Is your home feeling a little cramped? If so, there are many relatively inexpensive ways to free up more space. Here are some ideas:

  • Convert traditional into non-traditional space. We’re all familiar with converting a spare bedroom into a home office or kids’ playroom. You can also create space by finding other uses for pantries and walk-in closets.
  • Explore smart storage solutions. There are many products on the market that revolutionize how you store things. For example, there are closet organizers available that double storage capacity. Check out the options at your local home improvement store.
  • Get rid of unneeded furnishings. Is there a chair no one ever uses? Is there a side table that takes up a lot of space, with nothing but a few knick-knacks on it? Consider selling these items to free up some space.
  • Think high. Install storage shelves, hangers or baskets high up in the kitchen and laundry room. Use that storage for items you only access infrequently.
  • Consider storage rental. If you have furnishings and other items that you don't want to get rid of, consider renting a storage unit. There may be economical options in your area.

With a little creative thinking, you’ll be amazed by how much space you can create within your existing rooms.

It was my pleasure to help my clients find their new home. They were specifically looking for a pet friendly townhouse in North Vancouver with lots of storage, great outdoor space and close access to local hiking and biking. Well, we found it all right here! Lillooet Place is just below Cap University, so great acess to everywhere and the complex has a pool and playground for the kids. This is an end unit with over 2300 square feet on 4 levels with 2 good size decks and lovely lawns surrounding it. The perfect home for this famly, so glad I could help!

Now is a great time to buy, just get your financing in order (I can help!) and there are lots of great opportunities out there for you right now! 604.837.5048 - julia@juliastauffer.ca

Rowena List of Getting it Together, was one of the speakers at our event this Tuesday evening at the Delbrook Rec Centre. Did you know that the average home contains 330,000 items? Well that's what we found out. So in order to keep all those items in order most of us need help!

Rowena gave some great to tips on how to think about items as you look at them, when trying to pare down your belongings! Do I love it? Do I need it? Is it a just in case item? These questions can help you decide which to keep and which to toss or give away. Speaking of giving things away, Rowena has a vast database of organizations that will take donations of all kinds and she will even sell items on Craigslist for her clients, how great is that?

We will be doing another session in September, so if you are interested in attending next time, contact me and get on the mailing list for date and time information!
